The Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer PDF Print E-mail

The Alliance's area of interest covers the quality water of the Simsboro Member of the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer, which lies in parts of Milam, Burleson, Robertson and Brazos Counties (see maps below). This portion of the aquifer contains approximately 200,000,000 acre feet of recoverable water and recharges with rain fall and tributaries that flow over its outcrop. This body of water is large enough to supply water to other municipalities and at the same time protect the resource for all future generations.
